how the story begins...

I feel that it is amazing how fate plays an impt part in our life. I m not a v strong believer that our own fate is being predetermined. Instead, I feel that we can control our own fate to certain extend. Of cos, other factors play an impt role as well. For example, human factor (the ppl ard u). Sometimes u can decided on things solely by ur self. It's juz like team work. So long as u have put in effort, there is nothing much u can do or control.

I was flipping through all the letters and cards Dearie has given me from the day we met till now. And they brought bk fond memories... (Somehow, I prefer the conventional type of mailing to email, bcos u get to keep the hard copies and they are all handwritten).

I remember how we met... at the bus stop outside MOE building in Jan 2008. I was waiting for the shuttle bus to go back to TLL after I had finished my interview at MOE. Then I saw Dearie walking past, he seemed to be in deep thoughts. I din call out to him but just teasingly sms him, telling him I jus saw him walking past and asking him why he was there. And he replied saying that he vaguely saw a pretty lady wearing bright red (which was me) at the bus stop and din occur to him that its me. That was how it started. From then, we continued our sms about general stuff ans talked about the r/s problems we were facing then.

This continued for mths... We went out toge, either in groups or just the two of us (after we have settled all the r/s problems). On V day in the very same yr, we went out for dinner... as frens of cos. I din prepare any present. Just a simple card saying " hope u have a great yr ahead". But to my surprise, he bought me bouquet of flowers (i think it was a polite gesture) and he burned tons of love songs into a PINK (cos he knows that it my fav colour :D) CD. At first i thought its just a CD full of songs. The somehow it strucks me that the CD cover (a picture of angel drawn by him) might contain something inside. So I took it out and found out that there was a letter hidden inside. It was quite a long letter and its quite personal. So I dun intend to include here. In his letter, he mentioned that he would want to know me better etc etc... But that time, I wasnt really ready for a r/s. So i told him about my problem and he understood, saying that he could give me time and wait for me to be ready. So nice of him rite? :P

So we continue to go out as frens for mths and on a particular day (secret!) in May 2008, he popped the qn in the capsule of the singapore flyer when we were at the highest point. This was how we got started...

We have known each other in uni when I was in yr3 and we attended some lectures toge b4 (he would sometime sit beside me) and I still can remem how he would fell aslp during lectures). But at that pt of time, it din occur to me that we will end up toge happily. that's how amazing fate is :D

Forward Planning

It exam period now, aka tchr's happiest time.

This month has been, and is going to be, quite eventful. Dearie and I have finalised on our wedding date. Basically we cant get it done using tong sheng as the issue for 2012 will only be out next yr ard aug or sept. By that time, most of the hotels would have been taken up. Thus, w/o much choice (since Dearie's side insisted on calculating), we engaged a geomancer to calculate it based on our Bazi. So now we have gotten the date. What we need to do now is to secure the booking in the hotel we want. But the booking for 2012 is not open yet and this is making me v paranoid (being a typical s'porean - kiasu).

I have a hotel in mind. But based on the no. of tables we r going to have, that hotel is no longer my option. The price of the wedding banquet is mind blogging, esp when we have so many tables! There was a suggestion of putting the wedding in 2013 so that we got more time to save up. If you know its so expensive, why have so many tables? So our house will be empty for 1 yr rite (as we will be getting our keys in 2012)? I just dun get it and I am damn irritated! I know its out of good will. I understand. But there is a better way of solving to prob rather than pushing the date further so that can book more tables rite? To some, one yr doesnt matter. But to us (or rather, me), it matters alot. Why not compromise on the no. of tables instead??? We are the ones getting married anyway. Argh!!! There must be a way of prioritizing the guest list. But luckily Dearie has decided to have in in 2012 anyway.

Getting married is definitely not easy. esp the process involves so many ppl. Its worst when one side is more open-minded while the other wants to follow the tradition.

No matter what, I still love Dearie :D

Going to meet the wedding planner tmr. Hopefully it can be settled soon.
